20 acres of forest land in Cox’s Bazar recovered from encroachers

A mobile court during a drive has recovered around 20 acres of forest land grabbed by the encroachers in Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar.

The mobile court led by Assistant Commissioner (land) in Chakaria upazila and Executive Magistrate Md Tanvir Hossain recovered the land after removing 20 structures built illegally there, our Cox's Bazar correspondent reports.

Starting from 11:00am, the drive was conducted till 4:00pm at Jhumnagar and Medakacchapia in Cox's Bazar north forest's Phulchhari range area.

Mazharul Islam, in-charge of Phulchhari range, said the encroachers have been constructing structures after grabbing 20 acres of land in the forest area. "Today, the grabbed land has been recovered," he added.

Executive Magistrate Tanvir said that the drive will continue against the encroachers.
