2 siblings drown in Thakurgaon

Two minor siblings drowned in a pond in Haripur upazila of the district on Monday.

The victims, Farzana, 04, and Fahima, 03, were daughters of Farukh Hossain of Barampur Pirhat village in the upazila.

Local union parishad Chairman Abul Hossain said the minor girls accidentally slipped into a pond near their house while playing beside it on Monday afternoon and went missing.

Family members and villagers later found their bodies floating in the pond water and recovered those.
