2 murdered, 2 other bodies found in a day

A youth and an elderly man were murdered while bodies of two teenagers were found at different places of Dinajpur and Joypurhat districts on Wednesday.

Jhakki Imran, 25, son of Tenir Islam of Hawladarpara in Saidpur of Nilphamari, was stabbed to death in broad daylight in Chirirbandar upazila of Dinajpur on Wednesday afternoon.

Police arrested Md Sumon, 19, son of Kalu Mia of Nayabazar, and Akbar Ali, 20, son of Hatikhana of Saidpur in Nilphamari, in connection with the incident.

Police said Sumon, Akbar and Imran came to Bangalpara village in Chirirbandar upazila on Wednesday noon.

Imran was taken to a secluded place there and stabbed to death around 2:00pm.

Locals caught Sumon and Akbar when they were fleeing the spot.

Autopsy of the body was held at M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital in Dinajpur and a murder case was filed with Chirirbandar Police Station, said its Officer in Charge Md Mahbubur Rahman.

In Sadar upazila of Joypurhat, an elderly man was killed allegedly by his daughter’s son on Wednesday.

The deceased was Belal Uddin, 70, Karimnagar village under Sadar upazila.

Police arrested the alleged killer, Bayezid Hossain, 19, son of Liton Hossain of Parulia village under the same upazila.

The boy slit the throat of his maternal grandfather with a sharp weapon on Wednesday morning, police quoted locals as saying.

Bayezid is mentally challenged, said his father.

The body was handed over to family members after an autopsy on Wednesday night, said Raihan Hossain, inspector (Investigation) of Joypurhat Sadar Police Station.

Police recovered the hanging body of a domestic help at her employer’s home in Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur on Wednesday noon.

The deceased, Nazmun Nahar, 15, daughter of Ekabbar Hossain of Baraipur Haat under Phulbari of Dinajpur, was employed at the house of Reza Ahmed Bipul. 

In Birganj of the same district, body of an 8th grader was recovered from a river on Wednesday afternoon.

The boy, Rabby, 14, son of Aminul Islam, of Dakkhin Sujalpur village in Birganj, went missing in the river at around 2:00pm that day.
