2 killed as private car plunges into river in Satkhira

Two people were killed and three others were injured in a road accident when a private car lost control and fell into the Chuna River at Shawkatnagar area at Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira yesterday.

The incident happened around 7:00pm yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Arafat Mollah (22) and Ibrahim Hossain, both from Satkhira. The injured are Iman Hasan (23), Saifullh (24) and Robiul Islam (25). All of them are from Gumantali village of Ishwariipur union in the upazila, reports our Satkhira correspondent.

Shyamnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nazmul Huza confirmed the matter.

The bodies were handed over to the deceased's family without autopsy, as per their request, said the OC.
