2 killed in Narsingdi AL factional clash

Two people were killed and three injured after a clash broke out between two factions of Awami League in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi this morning.

The deceased are Iqbal Hossain, 30, and Amanullah Miah, 28, our Brahmanbaria correspondent reports quoting Mozaffar Hossain, officer-in-charge (Operation) of Raipura Police Station.

The incident occurred when supporters of Jafar Iqbal Manik, Mirzachar Union Parishad chairman, and Faruk Islam, son of AL general secretary of the same union broke out into a clash early today.

Three people suffered bullet injuries in the incident, the official said.

Additional police force was deployed in the char area following the incident.
