2 killed, 3 injured in Mymensingh road accident

At least two people were killed and three others were injured in a road accident between a bus and a CNG run auto-rickshaw in Rashidpur area of Mymensingh Sadar upazila.

The deceased were identified as, Babul Mia (42) and Ripon Mia (30), both of whom were from Mohanganj upazila of Netrakona, reports our Mymensingh correspondent.

Quoting the locals, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station Md Firoz Talukder said, the accident took place when a Netrakona bound bus collided head on with a CNG run auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite side.

Two passengers of the auto-rickshaw, Babul and Ripon died on the spot, said the OC, adding that the three injured are now undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Police seized the bus from the spot but the bus driver managed to flee the scene, said Firoz.
