2 arrested over RMG worker’s gang-rape

Two people were arrested yesterday in a case filed over the gang-rape of a ready-made garment worker in Savar’s Ashulia.

The arrestees Kaiyum, 26, and Tuhin, 44, allegedly took the 21-year-old victim to the former’s house at Gazichat area forcefully and raped her there on Monday night, our Savar correspondent reports quoting Fazikul Islam, sub-inspector (SI) of Ashulia Police Station.

The victim filed the case against the accused yesterday morning hours before the arrests were made, the SI added.

The victim was sent to One Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for tests and treatment while the arrestees were sent to court, the police official also said.
