18 Rohingyas detained

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 18 Rohingyas including four women, four men and 10 children from Amrakhali area of Benapole when they were about to be trafficked to India yesterday.

Tipped off that some Rohingyas were being trafficked through Putkhali border in Benapole, the  BGB members  detained the 18 people from a bus at Amrakhali, said Lt Col Ariful Hoque, commanding officer of BGB 49 Batallion.

 The detainees were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station.
