14 held in Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 14 women, men and children, while they were illegally returning to Bangladesh from India without valid documents through Putkhali border yesterday afternoon.

BGB 21 Battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Emranullah Sarkar said, acting on secret information, a team of BGB-21 conducted a drive in the area and detained six women, six men and two children. They hail from different areas of Narail and Barishal districts.

Later, BGB handed them over to Benapole Port Police Station.

A case was filed in this connection.
