12 injured in AL infighting

At least 12 people were injured in a clash between two factions of Awami League in Boalmari upazila yesterday.

Of the injured, two were taken to the upazila health complex and one was rushed to Faridpur Medical College Hospital while the rest given first aid.

Locals said there was a longstanding conflict between Saheb Ali, vice president of Gunboha union unit AL, and Monjur Hossain, a member of Gunboha union parishad and president of 9 no ward unit AL, over establishing supremacy in the area.

Both groups clashed yesterday after a goat of a supporter of Saheb Ali entered a ladies finger field of a supporter of Monjur.

At least 12 people from both sides were injured, said police.
