1 dead, 20 injured after bus plunges into ditch in Tangail

One person died and 20 others were injured after a bus lost control and fell into a ditch on the east side of the Bangabandhu Bridge's connecting road.

The identity of the deceased could not be known yet. Of the injured, 14 have been sent to Tangail General Hospital and the rest were given first aid.

Officer-in-Charge of Bangabandhu Bridge East Side Police Station Shafiqul Islam said the Dhaka bound bus which started from Bogura fell into a roadside ditch after the driver lost control.

Police, fire service and civil defense officials rushed to the spot following the incident to conduct rescue operations.
