MP Liton to be arrested: Kamal

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said ruling party lawmaker Manzurul Islam Liton who allegedly shot a kid in Gaibandha for “no reason” will be arrested if he does not surrender.

The minister was talking to reporters at his ministry at Bangladesh Secretariat following a meeting, reports the Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

“None is being spared. Whoever commits a crime must face justice,” he said.

MP Liton has been accused of shooting a 10-year-old in his constituency Sundarganj. The incident took place on October 2. The victim’s father has sued the lawmaker for attempted murder.
