Textbook errors: Steps after probe report, says Nahid

Steps will be taken over the mistakes made in the school textbooks after submission of the probe report, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said today.

“There is no doubt that there are mistakes in the textbooks,” Nahid said adding “To err is human”.

“But we have to be sincere more in future,” he added.

In the wake of widespread criticism over some embarrassing blunders in school textbooks, the education minister admitted it while addressing a press conference at his office in the Secretariat, Dhaka this morning.   

He urged all people not to take any negative impression in this regard.

He further said that the government cannot avoid the responsibility.

Yesterday, two NCTB officers were made officials on special duty (OSD) following preliminary investigation by education ministry over a widespread criticism centering some blunders in school textbooks distributed this year.
