Police today recovered the decomposed body of a youth in Munshiganj's Gozaria upazila, three days after he had gone missing.

Md Saidur Rahman alias Payel, 20, hailing from Chittagong, was a second year student of BBA in Dhaka’s North South University.

His decomposed body was recovered under a bridge in Bhoretchor area of the upazila early today, our local correspondent reports quoting Harun Ur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Gozaria Police Station.

On Saturday, Saidur and his friend Akibur Rahman Ador, 21, left for Dhaka from Chittagong on a Hanif Paribahan bus around 10:30pm, said victim’s uncle Golam Sarowardy Biplob.

When the bus stopped near Meghna Bridge at 4:00am, Saidur got off the bus to go to the loo. After a few minutes the bus started again for Dhaka but without him. His mobile phone was also left inside the bus, the uncle said quoting the bus supervisor.

The next day, Saidur’s mother Kohinur Begum called on his phone but it was picked up by Ador. He informed that he does not know where Saidur was.

The victims uncle filed a general dairy (GD) with Narayanganj Port Police Station yesterday.

Police primarily assume that miscreants are behind this murder.

Saidur’s body has been sent to Munshiganj General Hospital for autopsy.
