Missing expat youth still untraced

The body of a Saudi Arabia expatriate youth, who jumped into the Brahmaputra river after being chased by a rival group on Tuesday, is yet to be traced, seven days after he went missing.

The victim is Sabuj Mia, 28, son of Shahid Mia of Lamkaine village in Gafargaon upazila.

Police said there had been a dispute between Shahid and Ali Newaz, a manpower broker, over sending his other two sons Russel and Parvez to Malaysia.

On Tuesday, Newaz and his men allegedly attacked Shahid and his relatives with sharp weapons near Imambaria area.

While running here and there to save his life, at one stage, Sabuj jumped into the Brahmaputra and went missing.
