Missing during Eid vacation, 3 youths found dead

Bodies of three youths who had gone missing while spending their Eid holidays have been found floating in the rivers of Manikganj and Sylhet.

The body of two college students Abdullah Antar, 18, and Shohagh Ghosh, 17, was found from Piyain river of Jaflong, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.

They are both students of Dhaka’s Kabi Nazrul Government College.

Locals fished out Antar’s body last night, said Abdul Hai, officer-in-charge of Gowainghat Police Station. Shohagh was found this morning, said Salahuddin Ahmed, UNO of Gowainghat.

They were missing since Wednesday around 6:00pm after they went down to bathe in the Piyain River at zero point at Jaflong, a tourist spot in the upazila.

Meanwhile the body of Shihab Hossain, 20, hailing from Barisal, was recovered from Padma river in Manikganj around 10:00am today, reports our local correspondent.

Shihab, a motorcycle workshop employee in Dhaka, was visiting a friend’s ancestral home in Harirampur upazila, locals said. He went missing since Friday noon while bathing in the river.

After recovery, the body was sent to Manikganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy, said Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Harirampur Police Station.
