Missing child found dead in gunny bag
Two detained
A seven-year-old boy, who had been missing since January 5, was found dead yesterday in Ashuganj upazila of the district.
Police recovered the body of Rifat, son of Bahar Mia of Khariala village, from the roof of a toilet of one Monir Hossain's house in thevillage, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ashuganj Police Station Badrul Alam Talukder. The body was stuffed in a gunny bag.
The OC told this correspondent that the victim's family filed a general diary on January 7 though he was missing from January 5. The body was sent to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police detained two youths on suspicion of kidnapping Rifat. They are Sohag Mia, 24, son of Siddiqur Rahman of Patharghata area of Barguna, and Solaiman, 22, son of Ansar Ali of Kathalia area of Jhalakathi.
