Missing auto-rickshaw driver found dead

The body of a battery-run auto-rickshaw driver, who went missing from the city on May 20, was found in a pond at Majhapara village in Gangachhara upazila of the district yesterday.

The victim was identified as Dulal Mian, 32, son of Fazlar Rahman of Hasna Bazar area in the city.

Family members filed a general diary (GD) with Rangpur Kotwali Police Station on May 21.

Locals found Dulal's body floating in a pond in the morning and informed the police.

Being informed, police went the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Rangpur Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Hearing the news, family members rushed to the spot and identified the body.

Doyal Mian, elder brother of Dulal, lodged a murder case with Gangachhara Police Station yesterday.

Police said they have launched a drive to arrest the Killers.
