Mir Quasem execution: BR staff held for FB post in Ctg

Detective Branch (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police today arrested a Bangladesh Railway staff from Khulshi area in the port city for posting provocative comments on Facebook in support of executed war criminal Mir Quasem Ali.

The arrestee was identified as Shahadat Hossain Khandakar, a loco-master of BR (east zone), who hails from Sudharampur in Noakhali, reports our correspondent.

Assistant Commissioner Md Kamruzzaman of DB said Shahadat uploaded provocative statuses on his Facebook profile in support of Mir Quasem after his execution.

Acting on a tip off, a DB team arrested him from Segun Bagan area under Khulshi Police Station, said AC Kamruzzaman.

A case was filed under Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act against the loco-master with Khulshi Police Station in this connection, he added.
