After a day has passed, search is still going strong for the nine missing victims who went down with a trawler that capsized in Chandpur’s Meghna river.

Rescue workers could not find the trawler or any of the missing bodies until this report was filed at 2:00pm, our local correspondent reports quoting authority.

Bangladesh Navy joined in the search this morning. Bangladesh Coast Guard and Fire Service and Civil Defence were conducting frantic efforts since yesterday.

At least nine people, including six children, went missing yesterday morning after a motorised boat capsized having collided with an oil-laden vessel.

The collision took place in the middle of the river at Haimchar upazila because of poor visibility caused by dense fog, locals and witnesses said.
