Man gets death for killing wife

A court here on Thursday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife in 2009.

Judge of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Moshiar Rahman announced the verdict.

The killer, Torikul Islam Titu, however, is still at large.

According to the prosecution, Titu killed his wife Mili Akter Kuti over dowry related dispute at Nawdapara village in Bheramara upazila on July 6 in 2009.

Kuti's elder brother Jahangir Alam filed a murder case accusing Titu with Bheramara Police Station on July 9 in 2009.

The court also ordered police to immediately arrest the convicted husband.
