Man to die for killing father in Thakurgaon

A man was sentenced to death for killing his father in Balidanga upazila of Thakurgaon in 2010.

The convict is Mojaharul Islam, 36, son of Idris Ali of Charol Mohatpara village, reports our local correspondent.

Thakurgaon Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Haider Ali handed down the verdict in presence of the convict. The court also fined him Tk 10,000.

According to the prosecution, Mojaharul locked into an altercation with his father Idris over a trifling matter on December 13, 2010. At one stage of the altercation, Mojaharul hacked his father leaving him dead on the spot.
