Man confesses to raping college girl for seven months

A man who is prime accused in a rape case today confessed that he raped a college girl locking her in a room for seven months at Kashem bazar area in Ratanpur village of Sakhipur upazila in Tangail.

The accused is identified as Badal Mia, son of Darbesh Ali of Kashem bazar village of Ratanpur in Sakhipur upazila.

Sub-Inspector of Tangail detective branch (DB) of police Asaduzzaman Titu, also investigation officer of the case, said Badal picked up the girl luring her of giving marriage with her boyfriend on January 11 and locked her in a house.

Badal raped the victim after giving her drugs and sleeping pills for past seven months with a very least amount of food, he said.

Later on July 30, locals rescued the girl after hearing her scream from an abandoned house at Ratanpur village and rushed her to local hospital.

Police arrested Badal from Mirzapur Bazar area on Friday.
