Malaysian firefighters rescue 2 Bangladeshi workers

Fire-fighters rescued two Bangladeshi workers who were pinned underneath scaffolding that had collapsed due to strong winds at a private university in Selangor state of Malaysia today.

“The workers were painting when strong winds struck down the scaffolding. One man who was working on the sixth floor fell to the roof of the second floor. The other man fell on the fourth floor,” Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operation officer told local reporters.

The unidentified workers were sent to the University Malaya Medical Centre for treatment.

Bangladesh embassy could not confirm the incident immediately.

More than four lakh Bangladeshis are working at different sectors in Malaysia. Of them, majority are working for the constructions sector.
