Maj Gen Kabir new Bangladesh envoy to Indonesia

The government has decided to appoint Major General Azmal Kabir as the next ambassador of Bangladesh to Indonesia., according to a Foreign Ministry press release.

The government has decided to appoint Major General Azmal Kabir as the next ambassador of Bangladesh to Indonesia.

Major General Azmal Kabir was commissioned in the Corps of Engineers on 10 June 1983, says a Foreign Ministry press release issued this afternoon.

In his long illustrated career, he served as the Instructor, Engineer Center and School of Military Engineering and School of Infantry and Tactics.

He commanded 10 Reverine Engineer Battalion and 98 Composite Brigade at Bangabandhu Bridge. He also served as the Commandant, Bangladesh Ordnance Factories, Gazipur and as the Chairman of Bangladesh Tea Board. He served three UN missions in Bosnia-Herzegovina, East Timor and Liberia.

Major General Azmal Kabir graduated from Bangladesh Military Academy under Chittagong University and completed his BSc in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet).
