Liton murder: Ex-JP MP Kader Khan held in Bogra

Police today picked up former Jatiya Party (Ershad) lawmaker of Gaibandha-1 constituency Abdul Kader Khan in connection with Awami League MP Manzurul Islam Liton murder.

A team of plainclothes police detained him from his clinic-cum-residence in Bogra town around 5:00 pm, Ashraful Alam, superintendent of police in Gaibandha, told our Bogra correspondent.

Khan was detained following information gleaned from two suspects who were arrested by Rapid Action Battalion yesterday, the police official said.

Kader was an elected Jatiya Party lawmaker in 2008 from Gaibandha-1 constituency.

Unknown assailants shot Liton to death inside his home at Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha on December 31.

Following his death, Election Commission announced the by-polls in Gaibandha-1 constituency on March 22.
