Lightning kills farmer

A farmer was killed by lightning at Barobari village in Sadar upazila of the district on Monday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Rashid Miah, 48, a resident of Chowdhury Bazar village in Rajnagar upazila. Witnesses said a thunderbolt struck Rashid while he was working at a paddy field in the area. He died on the spot. Abu Sufian, chairman of Ekatuna Union Parishad, confirmed the incident.
