Lightning kills 2 in Rajbari

Two people were killed by lightning at separate villages in Baliakandi upazila of Rajbari on Tuesday.

The deceased are Jahurul Sheikh, 25, son of Malek Sheikh of Bakshidangi village, and Konak Bala, 19, son of Kanti Bala of Mashalia village under Jamalpur union in the upazila.

Quoting the deceased's family members, Jamalpur Union Parishad Chairman Mohammad Younus Ali said a thunderbolt struck the duo while they were fishing in Mashalia Beel (water body) and Puthir Beel amid rain, leaving the two dead on the spot.
