Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said the country’s law and order situation is normal and people are getting justice as her government has taken various effective steps.

"People are getting justice, and locals and foreigners are leading a normal life and doing business peacefully," she told parliament responding to a tabled question from MA Awal (Laxmipur 1) during her question-answer session.

The prime minister said it has been possible to contain terrorism and militancy due to the strong vigilance of the law enforcement agencies.

As a result, foreign investment is also increasing, while the country is moving forward and the base of the national economy is getting stronger, the premier also said.

She said her government is firmly committed to upholding the basic human rights, establishing the rule of law, protecting the public life and property and resisting all sorts of anarchy, including militancy and terrorism.

The prime minister said directives have been given to the law enforcement agencies to bring those involved in militancy, subversive activities and violence to book along with the ‘order givers’.

"The police and other law enforcement agencies have been working tirelessly through coordination," she told the house.
