Landslide at Sylhet stone quarry kills 4 workers

Four workers were killed in a landslide at the country's biggest stone quarry at Bholaganj in Companyganj upazila of the district on Sunday night.

The deceased were identified as Moin Uddin, 40, son of Etim Hossain, Dana Mia, 42, son of Anwar Hossain, Delwar, 24, son of Shahjalal, and Emdadul Haque Selim, 42, son of Siddik Ali of Kathalbari village in the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge Delwar Hossain of Companyganj Police Station said the incident took place when the workers were extracting stones from the quarry at around 9:00pm.

On information, law enforcers led by Sub-Inspector Akram Hossain went to the spot and recovered the bodies with the help of locals.
