Kishoreganj mother, 2 kids hacked dead over land dispute

A woman and her two children were chopped to death and her husband was injured in an attack over a land-related dispute at Tarakandi village in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj this morning.

The deceased were identified as Taslima, 28, wife of Mosharraf Hossain, and their son Niloy, 10, and daughter Raisa, 6.

Mosharraf had long been at loggerheads with his cousin Mobin over the ownership of a piece of land, officer-in-charge (OC) of Pakundia Police Station Shamsuddin said. 

Mobin engaged in an altercation with Mosharraf in the morning over the issue.

At one stage, he swooped on Mosharraf and his family members with a sharp weapon around 6am and hacked them indiscriminately, leaving Taslima and the two children dead on the spot and Mosharraf injured.

Police arrested Mobin from the spot and sent the bodies to Kishoreganj Modern Sadar Hospital, the OC said.
