Khaleda to sit with standing committee members tomorrow

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will hold a meeting with her party’s standing committee members on Monday night to discuss the country’s latest political situation and work out its next course of political programme.

The meeting will be held at the BNP chief’s Gulshan office around 8:00pm with Khaleda Zia in the chair, Sayrul Kabir Khan, a staff of Khaleda Zia’s media wing told The Daily Star this afternoon.

Discussion over a wide range of issues including the country’s latest political situation, chief justice SK Sinha’s a month long leave to Australia and outcome of the recently held talks with Election Commission, among other will take place during the meeting, source said.

Outcome of the talks between Khaleda Zia and visiting Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj which is scheduled to be held tonight will also be discussed during the meeting, the source said.

According to the sources, BNP will lay out its strategies ahead of the upcoming city corporation elections during the meeting.

Khaleda is going to attend her office for the first time since she returned home from UK on October 18 after over a three-month stay at her elder son Tarique Rahman’s residence there.
