Jatiya Adivasi Parishad today urged the government to keep quota in civil service recruitment for the indigenous community, Dalit community, tea-labourers and others from less developed regions.

The president of the Jatiya Adivasi Forum Rabindranath Soren today told journalists at a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters Unity in the capital.

“Their demands are logical and there is no scope for removing this quota rather, there should be focus on ensuring more security for the indigenous community,” Fazle Hossain Badshah, lawmaker and president of Parliamentary Caucus on Indigenous Affairs said in the press conference.

The public administration ministry’s comment on quota reform is not acceptable, he also added.

Rather the PM’s recent comment that there should be special arrangements for the indigenous community people should be worked on, he added.

General secretary of Bangladesh Adivasi Odhikar Andolon (BAOA), Professor Mesbah Kamal and Pankaj Bhattacharya were also present in the programme.
