Jubo League leader held with Yaba

Police arrested a local Jubo League leader and his associate with 670 Yaba tablets at Huikhali village in Santhia upazila of the district on Sunday evening.

The arrestees are Sumon Hossain, 32, vice-president of Kashinathpur union unit of Jubo League, and his associate Md Sujon Islam, 30.

Shahid Mahamud Khan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Santhia Police Station, said a police team, acting on a tip-off, raided Huikhali village at around 7:00pm when Sumon and Sujon were carrying Yaba to Chabbish Mile area of Sujanagar upazila, riding a motorbike.

Police intercepted them and seized the illegal drug from their possession.
