Jubo League leader held on charge of rape

A Jubo League leader was arrested yesterday in a case for raping a teenage schoolgirl.

The arrestee is Dolon Chandra Roy, 21, president of Ward No 5 unit of Jubo League in Sonarai union of Domar. 

Dolon used to make illicit proposal to the seventh grader of Kisamat Bhutian village in Sadar upazila for last three months, said police.

On October 22, when the girl was going to school, the Jubo League leader and an accomplice picked the girl up on a motorbike and fled away.

The accused took her to the vacant house of his accomplice Sumon in Domar upazila headquarters and raped her for two consecutive days. At one stage, the victim fled the spot on October 24 and came to her village home.
