Joint Ekushey programme on no man's land today

Bangladesh and India will observe International Mother Language Day jointly on the no man's land here today. People, including representatives of both the countries, will take part in the Ekushey Mela (fair) beginning at 8:30am.

Banners, festoons and placards have been set on the no man's land at Benapole, marking the day.

Food Minister of West Bengal Jyoti Priyo Mallik and Information and Technology Minister Bratto Basu from India and Awami League Presidium member Pijush Kanti Bhattacharya and lawmaker Sheikh Afil Uddin of Bangladesh will attend the inaugural function.

They will place wreaths at Shaheed Minar on the no man's land.
