Injured Sundarganj MP Golam Mostafa dies

Gaibandha’s Sundarganj constituency lawmaker Golam Mostafa Ahmed has succumbed to the injuries he sustained in a road crash in Tangail one month ago.

He breathed his last at Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH) around 8:30am today, Mehedi Mostafa Masum, his son told our Gaibandha correspondent this morning.

His car collided head-on with a bus on the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Natiapara, Delduar upazila of Tangail on November 18. He was at CMH since and even underwent a surgery.

According to his son, Mostafa’s namaz-e-janaza will be held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka and at Chandipur field in Gaibandha’s Sundarganj before burial at family grounds today.

He left behind a son and two daughters.
