BSF kills Bangladeshi on C’nawabganj border

A Bangladeshi cattle trader was shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Rokonpur border in Gomostapur upazila of Chapainawabganj early today.

The deceased is Shahjalal, 25, son of Sirajul Islam of Rokonpur village in the upazila, reports our Chapainawabganj correspondent.

Quoting Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) officials, Officer-in-Charge of Gomostapur Police Station Shahin Kamal said BSF troops opened fire when a group of cattle traders were going to India through the border around 2:30am.    

Shahjalal was hit by a bullet and died on the spot, the OC said.

On information, police recovered the body in the morning and sent it to the district’s Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
