India introduces online visa processing payment

India today launched cashless visa services for visa seekers, enabling Bangladeshis to make the payment of visa processing fees via credit or debit cards.

The service was inaugurated by visiting Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Finance Minister AMA Muhith was present during the programme at a Dhaka hotel.

The service was inaugurated online at the Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) Shyamoli Dhaka and IVAC in Sylhet. State Bank of India introduced the cashless visa service for Bangladeshis who want to visit the neighbouring country.

The online visa payment will be available in all the 12 Indian Visa Application Centres.

“We are witnessing an era where India and Bangladesh have built up a relationship over the years, which is now climax,” said Arun Jaitley while delivering his talk at the event.

“There is significant cooperation and understanding between the two governments, between the people of two countries,” he said, citing that 14 lakh people visit India a year.
