Illegal gas pipelines snapped

A mobile court disconnected illegal gas pipelines at Razghar and Thaliara villages in Brahmanbaria Sadar yesterday.

The court was led by Executive Magistrate Abdullah Al-Mamun.

During the drive, about 1,050 feet of residential gas connections in Thaliara and Razghar were identified as illegal.

The pipelines of these illegal connections were removed and the pipes were seized under the Gas Law-2010, said the magistrate.

Miscreants lay the pipelines at night in exchange of money, he said. 

Locals alleged that contractor Mohsin Miah and Shahed Miah provided these illegal gas connections and took Tk 70,000 from each subscriber.

They also alleged that miscreants will rebuild the lines within a short time, but the authorities assured they will gradually disconnect all the illegal connections.
