How Bangladesh would look if all ice melted

If all the ice on land melted and the sea level were to rise 216 feet, entire Bangladesh, home to 160 million people, would be completely inundated.

The maps, by the National Geographic, project the world after all the ice on land has melted and drained into the sea creating new shorelines for continents and inland seas.

Land inhabited by 600 million Chinese people would flood, so would much of coastal India. Along with that flooding of the Mekong Delta, will also leave Cambodia’s Cardamom Mountains stranded as an Island. 

There are more than five million cubic miles of ice on Earth, and some scientists say it would take more than 5,000 years to melt it all. If people continue adding carbon to the atmosphere, they will very likely create an ice-free planet, with an average temperature of perhaps 80 degrees Fahrenheit instead of the current 58.
