Himu murder case verdict on July 28

A Chittagong court today set July 28 for delivering the verdict of Himadri Majumder Himu murder case.

Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Nurul Islam of Chittagong fixed the date following a hearing in the case, said Anupam Chakrabarty, additional public prosecutor.

The court also sent three accused in the case to jail, he added.

The accused are Shah Selim Tipu, Md Shahadat Hossain Saju, Jahedul Islam Shawon, Mahboob Ali Khan Danny and Tipu’s son Junaid Ahmed Riad.

Of the accused, Tipu and Saju, who remained in bail, were sent to jail today. While Shawon, and Tipu's son Riad are on run, another accused Danny was arrested on February 15 this year.

According to the case statement, A-level student Himu was brutally beaten, dogs were unleashed upon him, and then he was pushed off a four-storey building in Panchlaish Residential Area on April 27, 2012. He died at a hospital in Dhaka on May 23, 2012.

It has been alleged that centering his anti-drug role in the locality, he was attacked.

On May 24, 2012, a murder case was filed with Panchlaish Police Station accusing five people in this connection.
