Hill slide snaps Sylhet rail link with Dhaka, Ctg

The rail communication of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chittagong was cut off after a hill slide caused cracks in a rail bridge in Moulvibazar this afternoon.

The incident happened near Bhanugach railway station in Kamalganj upazila around 3:30pm, said Afzal Hossain, station master of the station.

The bridge is located in between Srimangal and Bhanugach railway station, he told our Moulvibazar correspondent.

The railway authorities have started clearing the soil and repairing the cracks on the rail bridge, the station master added.

The Sylhet-bound Paharika Express from Chittagong and Parabat Express from Dhaka remain stranded at Srimangal following the incident.
