The High Court today adjourned till February 26 the hearing on a revision petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia seeking its order on the trial court concerned to transfer the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case against her to another court.

The bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim passed the adjournment order after concluding today’s hearing proceedings on the petition.

Advocate AJ Mohammad Ali appeared for Khaleda Zia, while Advocate Khurshid Alam Khan was present for the Anti Corruption Commission.

On February 8, the BNP chief filed the petition with the HC also seeking a stay on the trial proceedings against her in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case filed by the ACC.

In the petition, Khaleda said she submitted an application to the Special Judge’s Court-3 of Dhaka on February 2 expressing no confidence on the judge of that court on various grounds.

But Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar of the Special Judge’s Court-3 of Dhaka rejected the no confidence petition.

In the revision petition, Khaleda also challenged the lower court’s rejection order.
