Govt officer caught red-handed while taking bribe

Anti-Corruption Commission caught a top government officer red-handed while taking bribe in Dhaka tonight, officials of the anti-graft watchdog said.

Mizanur Rahman, a deputy secretary of roads and highways department, was caught taking Tk 50,000 bribe in a restaurant, Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, ACC’s public relations officer told The Daily Star.

A team of ACC officials led by its Director Nasim Anwar carried out a raid at the restaurant, located in Khilgaon, and caught him red-handed with the money around 9:00pm, the PRO said.
