An expert team from China today visited the DAP Fertiliser Company Limited in Anwara upazila of Chittagong where 250 workers and locals fell sick after inhaling ammonia gas on August 22.

A 12-member team of China Complant Group Incorporation inspected the factory from 9:00am to 11:00am.

China Complant Group Incorporation is the manufacturer of the 500-ton tank that blasted causing toxic ammonia spread in the area.

Later, they held a meeting with the management of the fertiliser company, reports our correspondent quoting the factory workers.

The team will leave Chittagong today, Alamgir Jalil, general manager of the factory, told The Daily Star.

Soon after the incident, Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) formed a 10-member committee to investigate the reason behind the accident, the damage and cost of the damage.

The probe committee was to submit a detailed report along with recommendations within three days but they are yet to do so.
