Four robbers held

Police arrested four alleged members of an inter-district robber gang in Paglapir area under Sadar upazila of the district early Monday. The arrestees are Belal Hossain, 32, of Uttam-Betarpara area, Sajibur Rahman, 30, of Kellaband-Sarderpara area in the city, Sadekul Islam, 37, of Kishoreganj upazila in Nilphamari district and Abdur Rahman, 35, of Roumari upazila in Kurigram. Md Abdul Qader Jilani, officer-in-charge of Rangpur Kotwali Police Station, said being informed that a gang of 10/12 was preparing to commit robbery on Rangpur-Dinajpur highway, they raided the area and arrested the four. However, their cohorts managed to flee the scene.
