Four cops sent to police lines for negligence

One sub-inspector (SI) and three constables were closed to the police lines yesterday for negligence of duty in Purandapur area under Moheshpur upazila of the district.

The closed policemen are SI Anisur Rahman and constables Abdul Gaffar, Asadul Haque and Imran Hossain.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Ajbahar Ali Sheikh said a robbery took place in a night coach on January 4 in Purandapur area. Police filed a case regarding the incident on January 7 with Moheshpur Police Station, accusing seven to eight people.

After investigation, SI Anisur and constables Gaffar, Asadul and Imran were found guilty of negligence of duty during the robbery and were closed to the police lines.

Moheshpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ahmed Kabir said SI Nazmul Haque and constables Moniruzzaman, HM Ershad and Waliar Rahman were earlier closed to the police lines on Monday for administrative reasons.
