Foundation stone of ‘Police Memorial’ laid in Dhaka

The foundation stone of “Police Memorial” was laid in Dhaka today to commemorate the policemen who sacrificed their lives on duty.

Inspector General of Bangladesh Police AKM Shahidul Hoque set up the foundation stone of the memorial at Mirpur Police Staff College, said a press release of Bangladesh Police.

“It is our duty to acknowledge the immeasurable contribution of the policemen who were killed while performing their duties,” the IGP said.

Those policemen, who laid down their lives, are pride of our country and the police force, he added.

The IGP also mentioned that the police force has been observing the Police Memorial Day on March 1 from last year to commemorate the policemen who were killed while performing their duties.
