Fish trader hacked to death

A fish trader was hacked to death by another fish trader over a trivial matter in Sadar upazila yesterday morning.

The deceased was identified as Anil Das, 30, son of Gopal Das of Birpur village in the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge KM Abul Kashem of Sadar Police Station said Anil Das locked in an altercation with fish trader Ajit Das over sitting arrangement at a fish market in the area around 11:30am.

At one stage, Ajit hacked Anil with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.

Ajit went into hiding soon after the killing. Being informed, police went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Narsindi Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
